Airborne Express: Although shipments were up 20.2% in 1995 to 230 million and revenues grew 13.6% to $2.2 billion, yield pressures and expansion costs cut operating income to $69 million from $88.9 million and net profit to $25.8 million from $38.8 million. It is expecting better results in 1996, despite the negative impact of severe weather in the first quarter. Airborne is celebrating its 50th year of "providing shipping and logistics solutions for business."

American International: Excellent traffic growth continued last year at the Detroit-based cargo carrier as FTKs jumped 39.6% to 1.05 billion. (See listing under "Nationals" and article, page 169, for further information.)
