ExpressJet nixes SkyWest bid.(RegionalNews)(ExpressJet Holdings Inc.)(Brief article)

ExpressJet Holdings rejected an unsolicited $3.50 per share takeover bid from SkyWest Inc. that was revealed in late April, but the airline is under pressure to lower its fees to primary partner Continental Airlines after SkyWest advised that it had negotiated a capacity purchase agreement with Continental contingent upon the acquisition taking place. In addition to feeding CO, ExpressJet feeds Delta Air Lines and operates independently under its own brand, while SkyWest's Atlantic Southeast Airlines and SkyWest Airlines subsidiaries feed DL, United Airlines and Midwest Airlines.

ExpressJet called the SkyWest offer an "opportunistic attempt to acquire the company" below its true value. …
