China Southern Airlines cited strong domestic demand and yuan appreciation as its full-year earnings soared nearly tenfold in 2007 to CNY1.871 billion ($267.1 million) from CNY188 million the previous year. Revenue climbed 18.2% to CNY55.87 billion. Operating expenses grew 16.1% to CNY47.38 billion. CZ continued the momentum in the 2008 first quarter with a CNY796 million profit despite the CNY200 million hit it took because of heavy snowstorms in central and southern China in February. …
