The wilds of Greenland on the Concorde, the edge of space in a supersonic MiG-25, zero G in a specially converted 737-- Australian resident Julian Hayward, 38, has experienced it all. The self-confessed aviation enthusiast and supporter of global charities also lodged the highest bid in the recent Singapore Airlines eBay charity auction for seats on the inaugural SIA A380 flight from Singapore to Sydney that was due to take place on Oct. 25. He paid $100,380 for two first class suites on the flight. As part of the prize, he also attended the handover of the A380 to SIA in Toulouse on Oct. 15.

"It's like Christmas," he told ATW. "Aviation has always fascinated me and the opportunity to help one of my favorite charities, Medecins Sans Frontieres, was just perfect. …
