This is a serious business, dammit. (airline business)

Yes, indeed. The airline business is very serious. No foolin' around, the industry is out to earn money. Serious money. We don't have time for anything that would make passengers or--heaven forbid --investors believe we are not dedicated to achieving that net buck/pound/yen/franc, etc., at the end of the day.

We behave pleasantly but seriously, dress our employees in serious, straightforward, businesslike attire and adorn our airplanes with dark blue, gray, red and white. Bare-metal, stark-naked airplanes, too. Is that serious looking or what?

With investment capital being so scarce lately, we can't afford to give anyone the impression that we're not serious.
