Pinnacle joins Delta Connection.(Regional News)

Pinnacle Airlines signed a 10-year capacity purchase agreement with Delta Air Lines to operate 16 CRJ900s as Delta Connection. Pinnacle will acquire and finance the 76- seat aircraft, to be delivered November 2007-July 2008 and begin flying for DL in December. A week prior to the Delta announcement, Pinnacle learned that 17 CRJs operated on behalf of Northwest Airlines would be removed from its fleet because it failed to reach a new labor agreement with its pilots by March 31.

Separately, Pinnacle reported first-quarter net income of $9.3 million, a 29.5% drop from the year-ago period, on operating revenue of $179.6 million, down 13% from the first three months of 2006.
