As exclusively a Northwest Airlink carrier, Pinnacle felt the fallout of the Major's bankruptcy when NWA removed 15 CRJ200s from the Pinnacle fleet. Furthermore, NWA's decision to launch its own wholly owned Regional subsidiary likely freezes Pinnacle out of future growth opportunities with its partner, so it is pursuing a separate certificate in order to launch an alter-ego airline to pursue feeder opportunities with other Majors.
