Norwegian did not sit idle in 2005. It added 10 routes and two aircraft and earned NOK26.8 million ($4.4 million), its first annual profit since transforming itself into an LCC in September 2002 (ATW, 6/06, p. 43). Last year it carried 3.3 million passengers and grew RPKs by 76%.

It continued its rapid expansion this year: At the end of April it operated 10 domestic and 64 international routes using 18 737-300s. …
