In December, the supervisory board dismissed Marek Grabarek, president of LOT's management board, as well as board members Piotr Dubno and Wladyslaw Metelski. Grabarek guided the carrier through full membership in Star Alliance and oversaw the launch of low-fare subsidiary Centralwings in 2004. The board gave no reason for its actions and three months later appointed Polish Civil Aviation President Krzysztof Kapis as new president and CEO.

Between April and June LOT took delivery of its first four Embraer 175s and in April it added a seventh 767, a dash 300ER, to support expansion of its transatlantic network. …
