The Luton-based LCC has been through a rather turbulent period marked by a major management turnover and a threat of a takeover by FL Group. In January, easyJet hired Goldman Sachs to replace Credit Suisse First Boston as its main financial adviser to help fend off a possible hostile bid from the Icelandic investment group that had built up a 17% stake since October 2004. Fears about a takeover battle ebbed after FL Group sold its stake in early April.

The departure of Ray Webster and the appointment of Andrew Harrison as new chief executive effective Dec. 1 triggered a change of several management positions. COO Ed Winter stepped down and was replaced by Mike Szucs; People Director Stephen Connock left at the end of September and was replaced by Mike Campbell; Deborah Abrehart resigned as company secretary and the function is now taken up by Giles Pemberton. …
