The Australian LCC suffered a profit fall of 9% to A$68.2 million ($52.4 million) for the six months to March 31 as its fuel bill jumped 34% during the period. However, that hike mostly was offset by a new focus on the corporate market and improved productivity, which contributed to a 6% increase in revenue to A$935.9 million. The result was very creditable considering the dramatic increase in competition from Jetstar on both domestic and Tasman routes.
