Bombardier eyes New Mexico for new plant.(Regional News)(Brief Article)

Bombardier is considering building a new assembly plant in Albuquerque for its proposed CSeries 110/135-seat jet program. A final decision on the $2.1 billion development program is not likely before mid-March.

Bombardier officials have been conducting a feasibility study of the CSeries since last year. The Canadian manufacturer, which introduced the first regional jet more than a decade ago, has been eclipsed somewhat in recent years as arch competitor Embraer launched its popular 170/190 family of RJs in the 70/110-seat range.

Bombardier officials issued an RFP to various governments to bid on the right to build the assembly plant. …
