ATR delivers fewer aircraft than expected.(Regional News)(Avions de Transport Regional)(Brief Article)

ATR delivered 13 new aircraft in 2004 and received 12 orders from three airlines, a weaker performance than it had predicted at the beginning of last year when it said it expected to make about 15 deliveries and receive 15-20 orders. Yet the prospects for the near future look good, noted CEO Filippo Bagnato at a press event in Paris. "After a difficult 2003, recovery of the market has begun in 2004 and demand for new aircraft progressively increases," he said, adding that he expects ATR to deliver about 15 new airplanes this year and 18 in both 2006 and 2007. This compares with nine deliveries in 2003 alongside 10 orders.

Bagnato said high fuel prices had a positive impact on ATR sales. …
