United Airlines' low-fare subsidiary Ted plans to boost service in Chicago in April with new flights from Midway to Washington Dulles and Denver, setting itself up for a big battle with Southwest Airlines and other low-cost carriers with operations at Midway. The new flights also throw Ted into competition with parent United, which operates flights from its Chicago O'Hare hub to Dulles and Denver.

Southwest is currently Midway's largest tenant with 19 of the 43 gates there. …
