United Airlines and the negotiating committee for its pilots union reached a tentative agreement on a new contract in mid-Dec. Terms were not released, but UA has said it needs $725 million in annual savings from its employees with $191 million coming out of the cockpit.

Separately, UA imposed pay reductions for salaried and management employees, ranging from 4% for salaried employees to 8% for officers of the company and 11% for UAL Chairman and CEO Glenn Tilton and his seven direct reports. …
