LanPeru faced a possible shutdown last month following a local court ruling that the carrier did not comply with citizenship law owing to its partial ownership by LAN (formerly LanChile). A decree by Peruvian President Alejandro Toledo delayed the order while the executive branch sought to have the decision overturned on judicial review. LanPeru carries an average 5,600 passengers on 31 daily flights to 11 destinations and enjoys a 48% share of the market.
