Rolls-Royce captures ANA 7E7 order.(Brief Article)

Rolls-Royce has walked off with another engine selection on the 7E7 and it is a big one. On Oct. 13, All Nippon Airways' board of directors selected the Trent 1000 over GE's GEnx to power 50 firm aircraft set to enter service beginning in 2008. Total value of the engine order was put at $1 billion by ANA. Previously, Air New Zealand selected the Trent 1000 for two 7E7s on order.

In conjunction with announcing its selection, Rolls said that Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Kawasaki Heavy Industries have joined the engine program as risk- and revenue-sharing partners. …
