'What about Bob?' (Robert L. Crandall to address the 1992 Regional Airline Association)

Reporters and members would like to ask AMR Chairman Robert L. Crandall the following: "While most AMR Eagle feeders are owned, how will your recent fare restructuring affect the non-owned regional carriers over all?"

They may get their chance when keynote speaker Crandall addresses the Regional Airline Association (RAA) Spring Meeting and Trade Mart later this month in Washington, D.C.

"The simplified fare structure is an attractive concept but if it trades reduced yield for increased traffic, then that's difficult to carry out at the regional-airline level with 19 and 30-seat aircraft," observes SkyWest President Jerry Atkin, whose carrier flies for Delta.

Commutair President John Sullivan, whose airline flies 19-seat Beech 1900s for USAir Express, feels that the jury is still out on Crandall's actions. …
