Alyemda: The national airline of the People's Republic of Yemen, formerly South Yemen, is to be merged this fall with Yemen International of the Republic of Yemen. Its 1991 traffic results could not be obtained.

Arkia: The Israeli third-level carrier recorded mixed results in 1991 but is looking for good growth this year. Boardings were up 1.6% to 584,353 last year, while RPKs dipped 1.6% to 431.7 million. Gains of 2.7% in passengers and 4.2% in RPKs are anticipated in 1992.

Revenues rose last year 5.4% to $59 million.

El Al: Despite the Gulf War, Israel's flag carrier had a reasonably good year in 1991 (see article this issue). Although passenger boardings dipped 0.9% to 1,750,670, RPKs were up 3.7% to 7.47 billion and FTKs rose 5.8% to 991.5 million. Growth of 7% in passengers, 8% in RPKs and 5% in FTKs is forecast for this year. …
