Lufthansa Group slipped into the red in the second quarter, reporting a net loss of 23 million [euro] ($28 million) and reducing the half-year profit to 39 million [euro]. The group posted a first-quarter 2004 net profit of 62 million [euro] owing to a 292 million [euro] book profit from the sale of its 13.2% holding in Amadeus. Second-quarter and six-month results still were ahead of last year, when the group lost 36 million [euro] and 392 [euro] million respectively in the corresponding periods.

Second-quarter revenue rose 12.7% to 4.36 billion [euro] and profit from operating activities was up 1 million [euro] to 185 million [euro]. …
