ZURICH--More than 50,000 airline meals are prepared every day worldwide by companies managed by International Catering Services (ICS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Swissair Associated Cos. (SAC), itself a wholly owned subsidiary of Swissair.

Switzerland's traditional expertise in the hotel and restaurant fields has contributed to ICS's success in winning management contracts for 10 catering and restaurant companies with 27 operations in eight countries. Establishment of airline catering companies outside Switzerland was ICS's original aim but is activities extend into many other catering and restaurant fields.

Companies with which ICS is involved have more than 3,500 employees and annual revenues of some $215 million. …
