Atlantic Coast Airlines Holdings, parent of Atlantic Coast Airlines, posted net income of $3.6 million for the first quarter, up 81.6% over net income of $2 million in the year-ago period. The company said its net for the 2004 quarter included a $6.8 million pre-tax charge related to the early retirement of three Jetstream 41s, additional revenue of $3.3 million from the reconciliation of 2003 codeshare activity, $4.5 million in pre-tax costs related to the launch of Independence Air and roughly $1 million pre-tax in legal fees related to Mesa Air Group litigation and the United Airlines transition agreement. …
