US Regional traffic surges in 2003.(Regional News)(Brief Article)

US Regional airlines boarded some 113 million passengers in 2003, an increase of 15% over the previous year. RPMs jumped more than 30% to 43.34 billion and load factor was 65.5%. These were some of the findings of the Regional Airline Assn., which released results from its annual report that provides a directory and statistical analysis of industry performance.

"There are four airlines that carried more than 10 million passengers last year. Not too many years ago, crossing the million mark was an epic event," said Doug Abbey, a partner in The Velocity Group that prepared the report in conjunction with RAA. …
