US Airways launches MidAtlantic.(Regional News)(MidAtlantic Airways)(US Airways Express)(Brief Article)

US Airways' long-awaited new Regional arm MidAtlantic Airways took off in March operating its first three Embraer 170s from Philadelphia to Kansas City and Syracuse and to six cities from Pittsburgh: Albany, Atlanta, Boston, Nashville, Newark and Syracuse. This month, three more cities will come online from each hub. The number of routes will rise to 24 by June as additional 170s enter the fleet. By year end MidAtlantic expects to be flying 39 of the jets and eventually will operate up to 85.

"We are very excited to welcome MidAtlantic and its brand-new fleet of 72-seat regional aircraft to the US Airways Express network," Express President Bruce Ashby said. …
