Possibly hoping to instill some fighting spirit into his embattled airline, US Airways CEO David Siegel in late March told employees that they must repel Southwest Airlines when it enters Philadelphia this month--or die. "They're coming for one reason: They're coming to kill us. They beat us on the West Coast, they beat us in Baltimore, but if they beat us in Philadelphia they are going to kill us," Siegel declared in a webcast as he called on employees to pitch in to help cut the airline's CASM from around 10 cents to 6 cents, with half of the savings coming from labor. …
