Regionals to address change at spring meeting.(Regional News)

US Regionals continue to lead their Major partners in me metrics that matter on Wall Street: earnings and revenue growth. But the large airlines are beginning to pay attention to this imbalance, negotiating tougher contracts with lower profit margins and pitting one Regional against another in the contest to receive new growth opportunities. Last year, Atlantic Coast said it will walk away from its United Express agreement rather then play the game (ATW, 3/04, p. 22).

These developments--and what they portend--will surely be a topic of discussion at this year's annual conference of the Regional Airline Assn. in St. Louis April 26-29. "We expect the trade show to be as big or bigger than last year," says RAA President Debbie McElroy, noting that some 170 companies participated in the 2003 exhibition with an estimated 1,000 attendees. …
