Swiss International Air Lines CEO Andre Dose resigned March 10, days before the Swiss Federal Prosecutor's office confirmed it had opened an investigation into whether to bring criminal charges against him in connection with the Nov. 2001 crash of a Crossair Avro RJ100 in which 24 people died and nine were injured. Dose cited the investigation as the reason he was leaving the airline he headed since its creation in 2002. He was CEO of Crossair at the time of the accident and prior to that headed the flight operations department.

In its report on the disaster, the Swiss Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau charged among other things that managers at Crossair failed to act on repeated "weaknesses" in the pilot's previous flying career. …
