US Airways, which threatened to shut down its Pittsburgh hub operation if its airport charges are not reduced (ATW, 9/03, p. 28), committed to maintain current flight levels there until early Sept. 2004. In a letter to Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.), US Airway's CEO David Siegel agreed not to downsize the operation when its lease expires in early Jan. The carrier currently operates 122 mainline and 274 US Airways Express flights from Pittsburgh International Airport serving some 107 nonstop destinations. …
