Is economic recovery within sight for the U.S. regional-airline industry? No doubt, the question will be discussed and possibly answered at the Regional Airline Association's (RAA) 3-day Spring Meeting & Suppliers Mart May 1-3, at the Washington Hilton & Towers Hotel in Washington, D.C. Economic recovery is the "big issue" among member airlines, says RAA. And with good reason. Some members are teetering on the brink of dissolution.

"There is no doubt that we have fewer member airlines than last year," admits RAA President John Fredericksen. "The issues now are whether things are starting to turn around and what can be done to aid that turnaround."

The association will devote significant time to the recovery issue with an airline presidents' round-table discussion led by Horizon Air Chairman John Kelly, George Poullos, president of GP Express Airlines and William Andres, president of Air Wisconsin, and a state-of-the-industry talk by Morton Beyer, chairman of Avmark, Inc. …
