Comair pilots' suit advances. (Regional News).(lawsuit against Air Line Pilots Association)(Brief Article)

A federal judge has given a group of Comair pilots a green light in their lawsuit against the union that represents them, the Air Line Pilots Assn. Comair is a subsidiary of Delta Air Lines, whose pilots also are represented by ALPA. The decision by Judge I. Leo Glosser of the Eastern District of New York will allow the Comair pilots' claim that ALPA failed to represent them Fairly to proceed.

According to the RJ Defense Coalition that represents the Regional's pilots in the suit, this is the first time a federal court has recognized that ALPA has a potential conflict of interest in representing pilots at mainline and Regional carriers. The Comair pilots charge that ALPA maintains a separate level of representation for the mainline pilots. …
