United Airlines received a restraining order to prevent its Regional partner, Atlantic Coast Airlines, from terminating its codesharing operations on behalf of UA. The filing was the latest twist in a legal battle that began last winter when ACA unsuccessfully requested that the bankruptcy court order United to either assume or reject the fee-for-departure agreement between the airlines. United has made it clear it intends to use the bankruptcy process to ratchet down the fees it pays to its Regional partners and has asked those partners "to submit proposed costs and other information," according to ACA.

In a statement, ACA called United's latest action unnecessary since the company has not sought to terminate its United Express agreement over this matter at this time. …
