Deutsche BA will be taken over July 1 by former board member and entrepreneur Hans Rudolf Woehrl after the symbolic payment of [euro]1 ($1.18) by his holding company, Intro Verwal-tungsgesellschaft, to British Airways. MD Martin Wyatt, who has led DBA since Jan. 2003, will return to BA.

Woehrl in 1974 founded NFD (Nuernberger Flugdienst), a forerunner of what ultimately became Eurowings, and served on the DBA board in 1994-2001. He indicated he intends to drop DBA's image as a low-fare domestic operator by expanding beyond the Munich and Berlin hubs to main European cities. …
