Northwest Airlines will cut pay and benefits for US-based nonunion employees by 5%-15% as it looks to slice a reported $950 million per year from its labor budget. The reductions will be implemented July 1 and remain in effect for 6.5 years, according to a memo to salaried employees in April. NWA has declined to comment on the its savings target, but according to published reports it wants pay and benefit reductions and changes to work rules valued at $415 million a year from its pilots. …
