* The new fire curtain recently fitted to the Drury Lane Theatre has proved its worth when fire broke out in the backstage area and did not spread beyond the fire curtain.

* At Bournemouth Magistrates Court, a man of no fixed abode was charged with obtaining money by false pretences. The magistrate noted that Mr Charles Marsh had been collecting money from the public which he claimed was for Bournemouth Fire Brigade. Mr E I Lane, Chief Officer of Bournemouth FB, told the court that Mr Marsh had no connection with the Fire Brigade.

* In a report to Leeds Fire Brigade's Committee, the Chief Officer notes that the 270 fires which occurred in Leeds during the year 1907 resulted in fire damage amounting to 69,192[pound sterling]. However it has been estimated that Leeds Fire Brigade saved property of an estimated 536,751[pound sterling]. …
