Open more hours! the FSNBF continues to develop its entire range of services, as it constantly strives to help more and more serving and retired Fire Service personnel and their families. Accordingly, the Charity's Helpline has recently benefited from a major expansion, and here we find out more about this service, and who it is helping.

The FSNBF now assists over 10,000 beneficiaries per year, and in fact very few UK charities care for such a vast number of people. Thousands of beneficiaries every year are helped by visiting one of the Charity's three centres, either for therapy or recuperation services. Encouragingly, since the recent opening of the Charity's Harcombe House therapy centre, even more people are now benefiting from visiting the FSNBF 'on site'. However, what many people often do not realise is that, in addition to helping beneficiaries at the centres, over one third of the people supported every year are helped remotely, or within their home environment.

The Charity's Therapy and Recuperation Line has been a resounding success in the two years it has been running, offering beneficiaries a first class access route, should they wish to apply to visit an FSNBF centre. …
