Contract to support network for fire and rescue services.(Product guide)

Motorola has recently announced it has been awarded a seven year framework contract to support the Fire and Rescue Services (FRS) in England, Scotland and Wales. This contract, which includes the option for extension for a further five years, is announced as the Fire and Rescue Services join Airwave, the UK's digital communications network dedicated to the emergency services and public safety workers, and one of the largest nationwide TETRA (TErrestrial Trunked RAdio) networks in the world.

Firelink is the project responsible for the procurement, delivery and installation of a single wide area radio system for the FRS. The contract was awarded to Motorola by O2 Airwave, winner of the bid with the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG)(i) to supply the communications network to the FRS. …
