Multi-cultural entrepreneurs meet firefighters to learn about legislation.(News)

An event in the multicultural area of Queen's Park in Bedford gave Bedfordshire and Luton Fire and Rescue Service (BLFRS) the chance to get across a range of messages to the communities represented.

The corporate evenings are organised monthly by Pam Woods of the network to bring together entrepreneurs from Queen's Park to talk about issues facing their businesses.

BLFRS took the opportunity to make a presentation about the new Fire Regulatory Reform which becomes law on October I, and effects all business whether they employ one or 1,000 people.

The new regulations simplifies legislation which was previously bound up in 103 different regulations--in simple terms the onus is now on the business, be it on a corner shop or superstore, to comply with the law. …
