* Merryweather and Sons have built a fireboat (see photograph) as a special commission for GLoucester Corporation Fire Brigade. The fireboat was commissioned by Mrs CH Scott, wife of the President of Gloucester Chamber of Commerce, she named the boat Salamander.

* The annual combined church parade of Oxford City Volunteer Fire Brigade and the St john Ambulance Brigade took place recently. Both organisations parade a 100 per cent turn out. The weather being fine the spectacle was watched by a Large gathering of people.

* Glasgow City Fire Brigade has just taken delivery of a new Merryweather Auto petrol motor fire engine. The new engine has a 50 hp petrol engine and a water pump which can deliver 450 gallons per minute, the vehicle can travel at 30 mph with a crew of eight men. …
