Chiefs support Select Committee Report.(Round-Up)

The Chief Fire Officers Association has said that it is 'encouraged' by the House of Commons Select Committee Report on the Communities and Local Government Committee--The Fire and Rescue Service--which was published recently.

The report highlights the 'significant' progress made in modernising the Fire and Rescue Service, (FRS), and congratulates the Service on meeting the targets for reducing tire deaths. The report recognises that the public can continue to have confidence in the management of the Fire and Rescue Service and the capability to respond quickly to incidents.

CFOA President, Phil Toase, says: "I am heartened by the report of the Select Committee which is a comprehensive and fair setting out of the issues facing the Service. …
