Leading fire company proves a 'great place to work'.(Product Guide)

W L Gore & Associates UK (Ltd) took two prestigious accolades home to its bases in Livingston and Dundee at a ceremony organised by the Great Place to Work Institute UK and the Financial Times.

The manufacturer of the world famous GORE-TEX fabric beat off competition from over 100 other blue-chip UK companies to be placed second overall in the UK's 50 Best Workplaces. It also won a Special Award for Health and Wellbeing.

Organisations are selected primarily on the basis of their employees' responses to surveys--the Trust Index--and the company's answers to a two-part questionnaire about workplace practice and policies. A range of questions from management competence to corporate responsibility was posed to a random sample of Gore's 450 strong workforce. …
