New Zealand fire chief joins London.(PEOPLE PROFILE)

A fire officer with more than 30 years experience with the New Zealand National Fire Service has started work with London Fire Brigade as an Assistant Commissioner (Community Safety).

Steve Turek replaces John Judd, who had been in the role on an interim basis and left London Fire Brigade at the end of May. Steve Turek served all ranks in the New Zealand Fire Service from firefighter to Fire Region Commander. He is a graduate of the Institution of Fire Engineers and holds a Masters Degree in Public Policy and Administration.

In his last role, Steve was Fire Region Commander of the Auckland Fire Region and responsible for New Zealand's largest and most populated area. …
