Manchester fire crews to get documentary treatment.(News)

A new Channel Five documentary will give viewers the opportunity to witness at first hand the operational work of crews from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service.

The eight part series, currently being filmed by independent company V Good Films for C5, will be transmitted during autumn at primetime. It will give a unique insight into the operational role of firefighters within Greater Manchester, with particular focus on crews from Broughton, Moss Side, Philips Park and control operators in the 999 centre.

The series will use the latest technology including thermal imaging cameras, CCTV on fire engines and cameras mounted on firefighters' protective equipment to enable viewers to really see what it is like inside burning buildings, at roadside rescues and during other operational incidents often where lives are at risk. …
