Unique emergency management course launched in Bradford.(News)

The University of Bradford is launching a postgraduate course that will develop the skills of senior emergency services officers. The new MA in Integrated Emergency Management will address an identified gap in the development of senior officers and critical incident commanders who are required to manage emergencies at a tactical level with other agencies.

The course has been developed between the University of Bradford's School of Lifelong Education and Development, and West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.

It is the first such higher education course to have been developed with a 'bluelight' organisation and will feature a strong vocational element--with participants being able to train using West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service's emergency tactical control suite, 'Hydra', based at their headquarters in Birkenshaw. …
