Formula One star backs campaign.(News)

Racing driver Jenson Button has given his support for a campaign by West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service to reduce the number of deaths and injuries on the roads.

Jenson races for the Honda Racing F1 Team and is one of the biggest and most popular names in motor racing. That has made him one of the most sought after sports personalities in the UK when it comes to endorsing products or campaigns. It was something of a coup then, when he willingly agreed to help West Sussex FRS promote road safety when they met him at the 2005 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Road safety initiatives already taking place have seen West Sussex firefighters acting in a video to support the forthcoming Safe Drive--Stay Alive campaign, and the distribution of posters and beer mats to pubs, dubs and restaurants to promote road safety, The Mid Sussex district team helped to promote a free bus service to revellers in the run up to Christmas in an attempt to reduce road accidents. …
