New Year's Honours for Fire Service director.(New Year's Honours)

A senior manager at Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service has been made an OBE in the New Year's Honours.

Cheryl Rolph, Director of People and Performance, based at Fire Headquarters in Huntingdon, will receive the royal honour for services to the Fire Service.

Cheryl joined Cambridgeshire Fire Service in 1980 and over her 25 year career has progressed through the roles from fire controller to Assistant Chief Officer.

"I am very proud to have been recognised for my services to the Fire and Rescue Service, said Cheryl. "For me this is a special honour as it highlights, above all the importance and significance of Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service and its contribution to making the county a safer place to live and work. …
