Downing Street reception for "extraordinary" firefighters.(Round-Up)

Firefighters and personnel from other agencies who fought the Buncefield fire met the Prime Minister at Downing Street during a reception held in their honour. The Prime Minister was joined by the Deputy Prime Minister and the Fire Minister Jim Fitzpatrick in hosting a reception in recognition of the "exceptional" multi agency and national response that resolved the Buncefield fire.

A total of 150 guests were invited to Number 10 Downing Street with 100 places allocated to "fire responders" and the remaining 50 to a broad range of mufti agency colleagues. A total of 31 local authority fire and rescue services responded to the Buncefield incident although 85 per cent of all attendees were Hertfordshire firefighters. …
