Irish Chief Fire Officers Association Annual Conference 2006.

The 49th Annual Chief Fire Officers' Association (CFOA) Conference will take place in the Landmark Hotel Carrick-On-Shannon, Co. Leitrim on the 3rd and 4th of May 2006. This is the first time in the history of the Association that the conference is being hosted in Leitrim. The theme of this year's conference is "Major Emergency Management--the New Realities". This is timely in view of the launch of the new Major Emergency Framework in Ireland recently.

The Opening Address at the conference will be presented by Mr Dick Roche, T.D., and Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government.

The Keynote Speaker at the conference will be Chief Justice Ronan Keane (retired), who presided over the judicial enquiry into the 1981 Stardust disaster.

The Chief Fire Officer's Association Annual Conference and Trade Exhibition is one of the most prestigious conferences in Ireland and is a major showcase for the fire and emergency services sector. …
