BAFE announces new chairman.(PEOPLE PROFILE)

BAFE, the organisation dedicated to improving standards in the fire protection industry, has announced the appointment of a new Chairman.

At the February, 2006 BAFE Council meeting Ken Knight CBE, Commissioner for the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority, stood clown from the Chairmanship of BAFE following a three-year term that witnessed unparalleled growth in both the number of registered companies and BAFE's influence in fire protection.

The Chair was handed over to Phil Toase CBE, Vice President of the Chief Fire Officers Association (CFOA) and Chief Fire Officer and Chief Executive of West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Phil started his Fire Service career at Dewsbury in 1974 and returned to that station as its Commander in 1986. …
