Arson boards to expand across London.(News)

An arson boards pilot scheme encouraging people to contact Crimestoppers with information about recent incidents of arson is set to expand across a further 14 London boroughs following a positive trial in Newham, Southwark and Tower Hamlets.

Arson boards similar to the crime incident boards used by the Metropolitan Police Service were introduced in the three boroughs from May in 2005 for a three month trial. The London Fire Brigade Arson Task Force, borough commanders and fire investigation officers were authorised to place the arson boards in areas where an arson attack had occurred. The boards were placed in 15 separate areas during the pilot period by Arson Task Force practitioners. …
