Tribute to 'outstanding' fire officer.(PEOPLE PROFILE)

Tribute has been paid to West Yorkshire's Deputy Chief Fire Officer Kevin Arbuthnot, who moves on from his current post in April after more than 31 years' service.

Chief Fire Officer Phil Toase described Mr Arbuthnot as "an outstanding individual who has made an enormous contribution to the county's Fire and Rescue Service, and to public safety."

Mr Arbuthnot pioneered many improvements in incident command and control which are now national benchmarks. He has also been responsible for developing regional resilience across fire and rescue services in Yorkshire and Humberside and is the architect of West Yorkshire's integrated risk management plan which is designed to raise standards of fire cover. …
